The Historical 2005 Pokémon Emerald Ultimate Frontier Brain Battle Tournament

#GameMasterY2K More details and pictures here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wi... This is perhaps one of the earliest known Pokémon Championship events in the United States. This took place in the famed Space Needle in Seattle, Washington on April 30th, 2005. During the time of the event, it was primarily broadcasted in the now-defunct Nintendo Power Magazine. 14 combatants participated in the tournament after the national quiz; they have been dubbed "finalists." The entry to the tournament was a national contest, and once entered, it was a tournament of battles on Pokémon Colosseum. How this was done, was Pokemon from Ruby & Sapphire games could be transferred to Pokemon Colosseum, and through Pokemon Colosseum, two player battles could be played. This was how the tournament took place. Very much the same way the Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 worked with GB and GBC Pokemon Games. I do not know if the Kanto Pokemon from LeafGreen and FireRed were allowed or if they were restricted by rules, however. The event was also hosted jointly across Canada, so it was not exclusively restricted to the United States. Credit is given to Stephen for recording the 5 short videos that were compiled into this video. Stephen was one the very, very few people who got to participate in this contest, and he even made it to the semi-finals. This footage is being used under the 1841 Fair Use Doctrine due to the Historical significance of the footage. No other known footage has surfaced publically at the time producing this upload. You can also see that Stephen's parent or adult at the event recorded the event in secret. FROM: NintendoWorldReport, reporting from Redmond, WA.
