A major fake currency printing racket has been busted by Uppinangady Police in Adinje village of Belthangady Taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. Acting on credible intelligence, police raided a rented house where counterfeit currency was allegedly being printed and arrested seven accused. During the operation, officers seized a printing machine used for counterfeit note production, fake currency notes, and bundles of high-quality paper intended for printing fake notes. According to police, the arrested individuals are from Kerala and Dakshina Kannada, and were carrying out the illegal operation from an isolated rented house. Officials stated that if the racket had remained undetected, counterfeit notes worth crores of rupees could have entered the market. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the network and uncover the full extent of the operation.
