Rene Murray's Slab Inlay Technique
Well-known ceramic artist, Rene Murray, demonstrates a technique which she has employed for many years on a wide variety of work: from clay vessels like jars, vases, and platters, to sculpture and clay painting. She inlays one type of clay into another making images appear with one clay as the 'figure' and the other as the 'ground.'
