In this video, @PalomaCipriano will show you how to seal toilets, shower enclosures, sinks, faucets, and several other elements, giving tips on products you can use to perform this procedure. The tips in this video are for areas without cracks or structural damage. If your home has any of these problems, repair the elements before sealing. To prevent toilet leaks due to misaligned flooring or other causes other than damage to the sealing gasket, loosen the toilet bolts, clean the base of the toilet with soap and water, raise the toilet, and apply silicone sealant. Afterward, screw the toilet back on, wipe off any excess silicone, and wait 24 hours before flushing the first time. To seal a tank or other masonry element, use silicone specifically for that material. Fit the silicone tube into the applicator and apply the product along the entire length of the tank. Wipe away any excess and wait for the drying time indicated on the packaging before wetting the product. To seal shower enclosures, use water-based silicone. Before applying, prevent the area from being applied with alcohol or acetone. Then, protect the areas where the silicone will not be applied with masking tape. Wipe away any excess and remove the tape before the product is completely dry. To seal windows, use general-purpose silicone. If your window has an old silicone coating, use a utility knife to remove it completely, clean the area where the new coating is applied with acetone, mark the area to be sealed, and use a silicone applicator to complete the job. If you have a leak in your roof, a good tip is to use asphalt tape to eliminate the problem. Before applying, check that no tiles are broken. If so, repair them before waterproofing the roof. Start by applying a waterproofing compound specifically for this purpose to the roof. Cut a piece of tape to the desired size, remove the protective film, and apply the tape over the waterproofing compound. That's it! Super easy, right? To seal sinks and bathtubs, in addition to the silicone sealants above, you can use sealing tape. Clean the area to be sealed thoroughly with soap and water.
