Trump's statements come after he promised on the same Thursday, through his platform Truth Social, a "major military punishment" for the Iranian regime and its Houthi allies after Yemeni fighters attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, extending the Middle East offensives to a second strategic maritime shipping lane.
