Warhammer 40K Humbled Me Within 5 Minutes...

I need help. Seriously. I went into Warhammer 40,000 thinking I had a decent grasp on what was happening. A few missions later, my troops are dead, the aliens are celebrating, and my Cyber Slug Space Marine is questioning every decision that led him to this battlefield. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something obvious. Am I building the wrong units? Am I using the wrong tactics? Am I supposed to be more aggressive? Or am I simply terrible at this game? This video is basically a live demonstration of a man getting repeatedly humbled by the enemies of the Imperium. If you're a Warhammer veteran, I genuinely want to hear your advice. Tell me what mistakes I'm making, what I should be focusing on, and whether this defeat was avoidable or inevitable.
