Ensinando comunidade: uma pedagogia da esperança de bell hooks

This Thursday, November 25th, at 7 PM, we will have the launch of the book "Teaching Community: A Pedagogy of Hope," by bell hooks. The event will feature the participation of the executive coordinator of Ação Educativa, Edneia Gonçalves, author of the book's preface, and researcher Vinícius da Silva. The event will be moderated by Juliane Cintra, coordinator of Events, Communication, and Technology at Ação Educativa. According to the preface by Ednéia Gonçalves, educator, sociologist, and coordinator of Ação Educativa: "bell hooks narrates her academic training process and identifies as the epicenter of her brilliant career her experience as a student in a segregated school, where teachers based the teaching process on strengthening self-esteem and on the absolute belief in the capacity of Black students to build academic trajectories with the necessary excellence to support them in confronting the power and effects of white supremacist thought that they would face throughout their future careers."
