Agricultores alistan protestas previo al Mundial y se suman a transportistas y maestros de la CNTE

Farmers from various regions of the country confirmed they will hold protests on Tuesday, June 9, two days before the start of the World Cup, although not all will travel to Mexico City. Martín Lim, spokesperson for farmers in Sinaloa, explained that producers from Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit will gather in Guadalajara, while farmers from states such as Mexico State, Tlaxcala, Puebla, and Querétaro will protest in the capital. He stated that their main demand is to regulate the entry of staple grains, especially during the national harvest, because corn producers in Sinaloa claim to be going bankrupt. He also indicated that the demonstrations could coincide with protests by the CNTE teachers' union and truckers, who also have demands on the federal government. The groups warn that they will maintain pressure in the days leading up to the World Cup if there is no progress on their demands.
