On the night of July 24, Ukrainian drones launched massive strikes on strategic targets in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region of Russia. The attack targeted the Wildberries warehouse complex and the Utkina Zavod logistics park, which housed Ozon warehouses. An air raid alert was issued in the Leningrad Region at 1:43 a.m. on July 24. Shortly thereafter, the first explosions were heard in the St. Petersburg area. At the time of writing, Ukrainian drones continue to attack strategic targets near St. Petersburg. Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko claims that, as of 5:16 AM, Russian air defense forces had shot down 50 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs in the skies over the region. However, he made no mention of the situation at Wildberries or the Utkina Zavod logistics park, which were the targets of the attack. Judging by numerous photos and videos posted on social media and messaging apps, drone strikes have caused a fire at a Wildberries store in the Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region. However, it's possible that the fire was actually at a WB warehouse in Shushary, a municipality within St. Petersburg. The photos and videos show massive fires, and black-gray smoke has begun to fill the St. Petersburg skyline. Some social media users report that UAVs also attacked the Utkina Zavod logistics park in St. Petersburg. The park houses warehouses and production facilities for the Wildberries and Ozon marketplaces, as well as other major Russian retailers.
