In the lead-up to All Souls' Day, L1 presents the intimate and moving Ode to Life: a program in which four Limburgers candidly discuss the loss of a loved one. Not to emphasize grief, but to show how grief remains intertwined with life itself, in moments of loss, but also in strength, connection, and comfort. Ode to Life is an L1 program about grief, loving memories, and music. At Erenstein Castle in Kerkrade, guests sit at a communal lunch table and share memories, silence, and music. In Ode to Life, you'll see: Karlijn van Dinther, about her friend Mirriam Roodbeen, who took her own life. Lenno van Galen, about his stepsister Janou Mighorst, with whom he experienced the farewell firsthand. Eva-Katrien Schröder, about her son Julian Hermans, who died suddenly at the age of twelve. Beppie Kraft, about her partner Pierre Knubben, who will always remain close to her in her heart and music.
