And on a personal note, she is suffering the loss of her child shortly before birth. Sophie faces a difficult decision: to quit or to continue. Michèle, 38, and Daniel Häfliger, 39, also face a challenge: On their small mountain farm in Romoos, Lucerne, they want to give up sheep meat production, as slaughtering animals is incompatible with their values. However, alternative, profitable businesses are hardly possible on the steep terrain.
