Caso Loan: duro revés judicial para Carlos Pérez en Chaco

The Federal Court of Appeals in Resistencia upheld the initial rejection of the habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of Carlos Guido Pérez, who is being prosecuted for the disappearance of the minor Loan Peña. The defendant had formally requested his immediate transfer to the Gendarmerie Unit in Corrientes or an internal relocation within Unit No. 7 in Resistencia, where he is currently housed. According to the official document obtained by NG Federal, Pérez reported that in Pavilion No. 5 of Unit 7 in Resistencia, he has been subjected to verbal harassment and physical assaults by other inmates, who have thrown garbage and food into his cell. The court, with the signatures of Judges Patricia García, Enrique Bosch, and Rocío Alcalá, categorically denied his request, confirming the initial rejection. Furthermore, he justified his request for a transfer to Corrientes to be in the same facility as his spouse and reported alleged death threats against his minor daughter. However, the judges of the Federal Court determined that the petition did not demonstrate an illegitimate worsening of his detention conditions. The court emphasized that Pérez is already in a secure area with individual cells and that requests for transfers or virtual visits must be channeled through the proper administrative procedures of the Federal Penitentiary Service and the judges presiding over the case.
