The lead role will be played by Karen Anzai. The director is Takashi Shimoyama, who also directed the previous film. The previous film, based on the Japanese sport of drift racing—a competition emphasizing strength, speed, and beauty—told the story of Japan's top e-sports driver aiming for the pinnacle of real drifting. It stunned audiences with its "zero CGI!" and "no stunts!" visuals, debuting at number 6 in Singapore's box office rankings and remaining in the top 10 in Thailand for three weeks. It also garnered a passionate following upon its release in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Brunei. The film received overwhelming praise from both film and motorsport fans, even giving rise to the phrase "Maverick of the skies, Alive Hoon of the land." Drifting is a motorsport without gender distinctions, and female drivers compete in the top categories. This new film features a female protagonist, dramatically depicting the journey of a lonely, competitive female driver as she builds trust with her teammates and rises to the very top. The lead role of Kudo Chihaya will be played by Anzai Karen, a singer-songwriter, actress, and model who is gaining attention as a fashion icon of Generation Z. She began by obtaining her driver's license for the role and dedicated herself to drift practice with extraordinary passion. Shimoyama Ten will direct, following his work on the previous film.
