Saiu de um burnout para abrir um estúdio | Raiz Criativa
Diogo Tavares went with a friend to apply to Lusófona University, saw the digital animation course, and changed his plans. He was going to study engineering. He ended up in animation because of a five-minute coincidence. Today he is an animation director, creative director, and founder of Puto Estúdio. At 22, he went to Angola to work for the Zap channel. He spent years in Amsterdam collaborating with international agencies, had two burnouts, returned to Portugal with the pandemic, and opened the studio from scratch. He has worked with Philips, Alpro, RTP, Grow, and dozens of brands and production companies. Today he runs the Rome studio and collaborates with Cola as an animation director. In this episode of Raiz Criativa, we talk about building a creative career from anywhere in the world, about what it means to be the unicorn who knows how to do everything in agencies, about mental health, and burnout in creative work. 🔗 Diego's work: Puto Studio: https://puto.studio/home Instagram: / tavares_tavarense LinkedIn: / tavarense If you enjoyed the conversation: 👍 Like this video 💬 Comment which guest you'd like to see in the next episode 🔔 Subscribe to the channel for more interviews, analyses, and creative content 🎧 Topics discussed in this conversation: 0:00 The Lusófona coincidence 6:43 Trix, the internship amidst the crisis 11:33 Angola and the Zap channel at 22 years old 14:38 Return to Portugal, freelancing, and Cubo 18:34 Holland and moving to another country without a job 24:11 They called him Jesus Christ 25:54 Burnout and starting a company from scratch 28:41 Collaboration with Cola and the series Democracy 30:16 Artificial intelligence 33:28 Objects: the sardine and the VHS of The Jungle Book Thanks to Sofia Santos for her assistance with the production.
