*NICE VOITH* Ride on Stagecoach Cleveland Transit 223 - M223 SVN - Volvo Olympian - Shuttle Run

I finally got myself a Palatine I Volvo Olympian. It may not have sounded anything like ours due to the voith gearbox (which does tend to stick), but it’s still a nice bus. The Olympian in question is 223, a Stagecoach example from the North East. It was one of five that was new to Cleveland Transit in June 1995 (so this has just turned 30, spooky). It was only there for a few years before it moved to Hull, where it spent the remainder of its time with Stagecoach. Its national number was 16823. Stagecoach sold 16823 in 2010, and it was purchased by Red Kite Travel in Leighton Buzzard. They operated it until 2019, when it was preserved by the Cleveland 500 Group. The Cleveland Transit livery is actually correct, unlike the Mainline ALX400 in South Yorkshire, as Stagecoach did retain the identity for the first year when they acquired it.
