With light yet accurate steering, it drives nicely enough, but its appeal lies in the comfort offered by its smooth suspension. Choice across the range has recently been pared down, with three trims, six engines and manual or auto gearboxes. Diesels are best, and all but the cheapest 1.5 dCi 86 have enough pulling power, which is useful when the boot is full of luggage. Sporty GT Line models look smart and are more fun to drive, but the stiffer suspension spoils its appeal as a family car.
