In which case this would be the Mega Drive since it's the Japanese version but it still is classified as 1 console, much in the same way that Bust-A-Move is the same as Puzzle Bobble. Genesis - USA Mega Drive - Europe/Japan -- Something like this has been attempted before but never actually finished, they got through the first 3 or 4 stages and called it quits, I decided to take it upon myself to make a rather rough-edged TAS of the game. I say rough-edged, it can probably be optimized further depending but honestly I don't wanna screw with the inputs from the fact that I might desync another part of the TAS that has specific RNG assigned to it. The current time that I have for this run specifically is 18:23.22 (18m 23s 22ms), Debating whether or not this can be improved in any way possible in a new run. -- Columns as a franchise, is an action puzzle game where you match 3 of the same jewels or more, you can only change the colour order by cycling, Columns 3 interprets this formula in a different way making it purely competitive/VS based, there's no practice mode in this version, up to 5 players can play together using the multitap peripheral plugged into player 2's controller slot. -- There's a reason I am using the Japanese (titled: "対決！コラムズ　ワールド" (Hepburn: "Taiketsu! Koramuzu Warudo.") version of the game, not because of the RNG factor, it's more to do with the VS. Com behaviour patterns compared to the western version (titled: "The Revenge of Columns") Sphinx will not pressure you at the top when a column is filled 3 spaces from the top, and by pressure I mean to say every 10 attack points (the blue number below your next piece) and interpret strategies based on the opponent you're facing. whether it be the first, last or another human opponent. -- A tool assisted speedrun or TAS for short, is a speedrun done as fast as possible, with frame perfect inputs, RNG manipulation and other sorts of tricks that wouldn't be possible with human input as fast as the game can handle and can get ridiculous wherever needed with absurdly weird input sequences used to perform certain tasks. --
