Estancia La Raquel
This place is etched in the memory of all who traveled to the coast along National Route 2. Just after crossing the Salado River on the right bank, there are two clearings in the woods from which you can see the mysterious "Castle," which always becomes a topic of conversation for the following kilometers of the journey. This is a beautiful place full of history and mystery that can be visited today. Both for its beauty and for the tragic story of Felicitas Guerrero, it is one of the emblematic sites of this province. The ranch is managed by the Russo-Guerrero Foundation, which raises funds through events and picnics for the restoration and maintenance of the Chalet—as Valeria Guerrero preferred to call it—a task that has been underway for about seven years. Unfortunately, since it is under restoration, we cannot show you the interior, which allows us to return for a second part once the work is finished. Construction of the house began in 1894, and all the materials arrived from Europe, which was common practice at that time. Its designer is unknown, and it underwent many modifications; so much so that the tower was added later, and this wasn't discovered until the pool, designed to perfectly reflect the chalet, was filled. Another unique feature is its windows, positioned so that the house receives sunlight year-round, both at sunrise and sunset. Picnics are organized very close to the Salado River, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful trees in the park. Several tables are set up near the grill in their shade. The current owners are excellent hosts, and along with their wonderful dogs, they go from table to table chatting with visitors, sharing interesting stories, and answering their questions. Different chefs rotate each weekend, such as Luciano Hernández of Quebracho & Hierro, who was there on the day we visited. They offer two guided tours: one about the history of the place and its family, and another showcasing the park's wide variety of trees. In the afternoon, tea is served with traditional pastafrolas and fried cakes. The entire property is open for you to explore and enjoy a relaxing day with wonderful views of the Salado River and a spectacular sunset over the countryside. #guerrero #estancias #castelli INLUXUS Website: http://www.inluxus.com Television: https://viajartv.tv Instagram: / inluxus The music in INLUXUS videos is from: https://www.epidemicsound.com
