In the spirit of inheriting the March 1st Movement, the Moon Jae-in administration has expressed its determination to “make 2019 the inaugural year of peace on the Korean Peninsula.” The Hankyoreh is currently running a series of various articles examining the contemporary significance of the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Movement and the importance of settling accounts with pro-Japanese collaborators, a task that has yet to be fully accomplished. As part of this series, we arranged a dialogue between actor Jung Woo-sung, who has recently been actively speaking out on various social issues, and Lim Heon-young, Director of the Institute for Research in Collaborationist Activities, who has been at the forefront of historical reckoning through activities such as the compilation of the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Collaborators. This dialogue, titled "Jung Woo-sung Asks, Lim Heon-young Answers," took place on the afternoon of the 27th at the Institute for Research in Collaborationist Activities located in Cheongpa-dong, Yongsan-gu. This day also happened to mark the 27th anniversary of the Institute for Research in Collaborationist Activities, founded in 1991. Watch the video to see the special conversation between the two.
