A Thickness Jig for Accurate Hand Planing

Hello everyone! In this video I build a micro-adjustable thickness jig for hand planing — designed to help achieve consistent thickness when working with hand tools. This jig was born out of a real need in my shop, and throughout the build I focus on accuracy, alignment, and practical problem-solving rather than step-by-step instruction. It’s not a full tutorial, but a documented build process showing how and why certain design choices were made. The final version uses a simplified lift mechanism that allows the bed to self-align more reliably, resulting in consistent thickness along the full length of the workpiece.
