City of the Sun - Everything is Happening

Adam Road and John Pita—founding members of City of the Sun, the guitar duo taking NYC by storm—met serendipitously (trés New York) in 2010. As if one musician can sniff another out from a crowd, Adam approached John on a whim, at a sidewalk on the Upper East Side. What began as a comment on his (you may call it 'hipster') attire, became a conversation about music that has lasted two years since. Adam and John couldn't have had more diverse upbringings—John spent his childhood in Ecuador, and Adam grew up in Israel and Denver. Collectively they've lived in a car, the army, a hippie's den, the infamous Chelsea warehouse/speakeasy owned by Giorgio Gomelski (original manager for the Yardbirds and Rolling Stones) and a myriad of places in between. This created distinct points of view that made for a dynamic partnership. When it came to music, the duo was able to bring all of their experiences to life by producing their own unique sound. City of the Sun was born in the subways, streets, and local bars of New York City. In the very beginning, what became some of the band's most devoted fans discovered them while waiting for the C train after work, or walking across Union Square Park at sunset. In October 2012 COS introduced newest member Avi Snow, who grew up with Adam in Israel. They continue to record and develop their sound, building upon the guitar rhythm and riff foundation with vocals and electronic soundscapes. Members: Adam G.
