Marketplace skid steer will it start can we save it!

I hunted down the CHEAPEST inoperable Bobcat skid steer I could find on Facebook Marketplace – a no-engine mystery machine! Turns out it's a classic Bobcat 742 (originally gas-powered). I drove 3.5 hours to the north side of Detroit for the pickup... but the seller ghosted me for 2.5 hours – sketchy vibes hoping I don't get shot! Finally loaded it up, got it home, deep cleaned, and discovered the hour meter shows just 584 hours... but is it original? Mixed clues on low hours vs. wear. Now planning a diesel engine swap like the Bobcat 743, so not a 742 anymore but not really a 743 either I guess after adding the Point 5 garage touch this will be a 742.5.
