PROVA BMW F900XR 2025: Comoda e adatta al turismo… ma poco eccitante come le vecchie 800? 🤔

The BMW F900XR is a crossover powered by a parallel twin that has been a success since its first incarnation with an 800cc displacement. Considered the younger sister of the rocket-powered S1000XR, it combines some typical features of purely touring motorcycles - first and foremost the comfortable posture and excellent aerodynamic protection - with contents designed to increase its capabilities in sports riding. In this regard, in the past the 800 versions had been accused of having adequate chassis and suspension and brakes also suitable for "happy" use, but with an engine with an overly soft and characterless delivery, which once on the road, made the XR seem slower than it actually was. And... also a little "boring". With the transition to the 900 engine the situation had improved, and in this 2025 version the BMW crossover should have taken a further step in trying to satisfy (and attract) even those motorcyclists who, coming from purely sports vehicles, are looking for something more comfortable. Something more comfortable that, if desired, supports them and makes them have fun even in those situations in which touring intentions are put on the back burner in favor of the desire to lean. Among the new features of the 2025 F900XR we therefore have a revision of the 895cc parallel twin, which in addition to gaining Euro 5+ approval, has been made more "spicy" in the sportier mappings. The fork is now a fully adjustable 43mm USD, the rims are 1.8kg lighter, the ABS has a cornering function and there is a new, wider and more protective windshield with adjustable height. The declared power is 105hp at 8,500 rpm, but the really interesting data concerns the torque: 93Nm at just 6,750 rpm.
