taking on Viconia and Sharrans with magic club

one of the fights you should take early in act 3 for ability improvement. or for easy xp if ur not level 12 by then. nothing new, nothing fancy in this vid but just recording what i learned. as you get closer to max level, magic club's damage feels like 'not enough'. especially when u just do weapon attack. ive been relying on melee eldritch blast more than just weapon attack since act 3. u could just smite in every single encounter and take rest but thats not what ive been doing. im trying to save resources as much as possible. with melee eldritch blast, its enough to kill an enemy around 100hp using just one action. if i was to do three weapon attacks, i have to use bonus action on top of 2 main hand attacks. off hand attack is relatively easy to miss since it still uses strength modifier which is -1 in my setup(fyi, im 4 paladin / 8 warlock rn). no radiant damage here. no callous glow, no divine smite cuz of radiant retort. as many people have been doing already, its AOE spell that mostly does the damage. ive seen some people using hunger of hadar here but it simply lacks damage imo. so i used wall of fire, and ice storm on top of it. ice surface doesnt last very long with that spell so u have to cast like every turn basically(this is where elixir of bloodlust comes in handy). some of them will just run through or cast shadow step to get closer to u. then u finish them off with melee eldritch blast. Viconia casts sanctuary of loss to whoever u hit. easiest way to counter it is that u kill with one action. then Viconia casts it after the target died. only small area of darkness remains, but no matter when ur immune to blindness(it may be kinda tricky if ur not. i got devil's sight here being a warlock). if u fail to one shot the target, u gotta get them into AOE spell, maybe using black hole or void bulb. and more AOE spells. try to keep yourself out of Viconia's sight. in solo run ur on your own, so u took mapping of the heart(unless u succeed 20 DC investigation check). if u attack any of them while ur cursed by Viconia, ur basically dead. and this is most likely why this battle is so AOE heavy, you cant just run around and bonk everyone.
