Rasy koni #101 - Polskie rasy koni: Konik Polski (remake) 🐴🇵🇱

We're still on the topic of the Tarpan, because in this episode I'll be discussing the modern equivalent of these wild horses – the Polish Konik. 🐴🇵🇱 They were bred to closely resemble the extinct Tarpan. They are characterized by a mouse-gray coat, a dark stripe running along their back, and a small stature. They are very hardy, resistant to harsh weather conditions, and require little care. They can graze on pastures year-round, even in frosty or hot weather. Wild populations live in areas such as the Popielno nature reserve and Roztocze National Park. They can also be found in other places, where they help maintain natural habitats through grazing. However, many of the Koniks also live in stables and are used for hippotherapy and riding lessons. Due to their calm nature, intelligence, and gentle disposition, they are excellent with children and beginner riders. In fact, the first horse I ever rode was of this breed. 😄🐎 It was thanks to the Polish Konik that my riding adventure began, that's why I have such a fondness for them.
