Rita, Blanche, Emily and Betty are held at gunpoint - Coronation Street (25 February 2002)

For Rita's big birthday (her 70th), she goes out on a drive into the country with Blanche, Emily and Betty. Blanche takes over the directions and they end up in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly, a young man comes running with a bag asking for a lift. Blanche tells him to get him, but then Rita spots a wad of money and a weapon. Rita's sighting is spotted by the young man who then threatens the four ladies with the gun! Emily is frozen with fear and can't move, remembering what happened to her late husband Ernest. Eventually, the police come calling and Rita hits him with the car door! They end up back at the Rovers and wish Rita a belated happy birthday. Copyright of ITVplc and Granada.
