Base to Peak: Llyn Fawr, Llyn Fach & Craig y Llyn Summit
A full base‑to‑peak journey across the high lakes of the Rhigos, starting at Llyn Fawr, crossing to Llyn Fach, and pushing up toward the Craig y Llyn summit. This ascent was far tougher than expected: fallen trees everywhere, sections of trail completely blocked, and long stretches of climbing over, under and around obstacles. Add in the Sunday afternoon heat, and it turned into a real test of patience and endurance. But the payoff is worth it, the quiet water, the high ridge, and the views across the valleys make this loop one of the most dramatic routes in the area. If you enjoy atmospheric upland walks, rugged terrain and honest routes with a challenge, this one delivers.
