Ford's BlueCruise system is a driver assistance system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assist to allow hands-free highway driving. This system, which Ford has been offering in the United States for a couple of years, is the first of its kind approved for use in Europe. With this approval, Ford has leapfrogged manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes, which are also about to introduce their versions of this system in European markets.
