TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Resistance factions allied with Iran launched a lightning retaliation attack on the US Ground Forces Command headquarters in Kuwait on Thursday evening (July 23, 2026). This retaliatory attack was launched in response to the previous military aggression targeting the Shalamcheh border area. Quoting Al Mayadeen on July 24, this was according to a senior Arab security source who told Al Mayadeen. It was reported that the US headquarters was targeted because it was responsible for the aggression on the Shalamcheh border. The attack, which took place at 7:00 PM Kuwait time, reportedly caused heavy damage to the command building. This decisive action was a direct response to the US missile attack on Shalamcheh—an area between Iran and Iraq—that targeted civilians. The bloody incident on the border itself began with a United States airstrike on Thursday morning. Mehr News Agency initially quoted a Khuzestan security official as claiming the attack near the passenger terminal resulted in no casualties. However, the deputy governor of Khuzestan Province for security affairs soon clarified the report. Local authorities finally confirmed that the US missile attack on the Shalamcheh border resulted in two deaths and 11 injuries. Amid this escalation in retaliation, rumors emerged that Iranian forces had participated in the attack on a power plant in Kuwait. Senior Iranian political and security sources quickly denied these allegations in an interview with Al Mayadeen. Iran asserted that the reports of the attack on Kuwait's power facilities were deliberate disinformation. The fabricated narrative was considered part of a false flag operation launched by Israeli entities. Tehran also emphasized that the Israeli propaganda was in no way connected to the retaliatory military operation launched by the resistance factions.
