The Thorn Birds (1983, ABC): "Oh GOD, how much!"
Evil old Mary Carson (Barbara Stanwyck) has lived enough. She's ready to die. But not before planning some delicious agony for Father Ralph de Bricassart (Richard Chamberlain). Stanwyck plays this beautifully, and the bit about seniors feeling trapped inside their old bodies, with all their desires still intact is bittersweet.
