I Tried Alton Towers Ride Access Pass...

In this video, I try out the newly updated Alton Towers Ride Access Pass system, which requires you to download an app on your phone. Through this app, you can verify your eligibility using an appropriate method, such as a Nimbus card. Once verified, you can book a ride access pass. This ride access pass allows you to queue in a virtual line for the ride; it does not reduce the amount of time you wait. Rather, you are just not required to wait physically in the queue itself. The queue times are updated depending on the actual queue times posted outside of the rides themselves. Having diabetes at theme parks is, in my own opinion, one of the very few times that diabetes comes with a perk; in this case, we were able to get on with other parts of the theme park experience without having to spend hours in a line. In this video, I review this system and give my final thoughts afterwards on whether this system is worthy of recognition, comparing it to other examples from all over the world, such as Disneyland Paris or Orlando theme parks like Universal. Alton Towers has recently changed the system and now only a set number of passes are released for each day, meaning there is limited availability and pre-planning is required for visits. I test out the ride access pass and give a verdict on whether this system works well, or is deeply flawed, using my experience as a type one diabetic. ---------- Attribution for Music Included: Hall of the Mountain King by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
