AC Infinity Tents for Growing Orchids
My thoughts on AC Infinity Tents after about 6 months of growing under lights. Includes recommendations if you're thinking of getting a grow tent. Some key points I discuss if you're planning to buy a tent for growing orchids: Do not buy a 'all in one' kit/'complete tent grow system' - buy separate pieces. This is explained in the vid, but crucially: The kit comes with a piece of filtering equipment you don't need (it filters the smell of the pungent green crop these tents are originally designed for) The included LED lightboard is way more powerful than you need for orchids; better to use the ones recommended below: I recommend you get: A tent that's bigger than you need because you will buy more plants! IONBEAM LED light strips (sold under 'supplementary lights'). You will likely need several of these, each comes as a set of four. Use multiple to get even light coming from above. I think the 16 inch ones work better for light distribution. An oscillating clip fan. A CLOUDFORGE T3, 4.5 litre humidifier (this is what I use for the size tents I have and they work great). Smart UIS Controller 69 Pro (the one with 'independent programs for four devices'). With this, if you end up with more than four devices (e.g. three sets of light strips, one humidifier, one fan = five devices) you'll need a multi- extender thingy for all the lights to plug into because the contriller only has four ports in the back: Multi-extender thingy to connect up to four lights to one port in the back of the UIS controller. It's called a: UIS Splitter Hub 4-Port, Adapter Dongle for Shared Programming. If you use this, whatever you plug into the multi-extender (as I call it!) is considered 'one device'. So e.g. if the multi-extender is plugged into 'port 1' of your UIS controller, when you set the settings for 'port 1', i.e. light level and timing, it will be identical for all the lights plugged into the multi-extender. You also cannot use different types of device on the multi-extender, e.g. plugging the fan and the lights into the same multi-extender won't work. The fan needs to go into a separate port in the UIS controller. Just some key points - explained further in the vid. I'm not affiliated with AC Infinity, this is a totally independent review based on my personal experiences.
