Corsetry for Dummies: 18th Century Stays (corset) for Beginners - Augusta Stays
Instructions are overrated. Who needs them? I hate them. This is a review of the Augusta 18th Century Stays pattern from Scroop Patterns from 1775 to 1789. This pattern is by Scroop Patterns and Virgils Fine Goods is really easy to use and the instructions (that I read after I finished sewing) are very well put together. It even made me emotional. These 18th Century Stays are very comfortable and I even recommend them for beginner sewists. If you are beginning your journey in corset sewing, this is the pattern for you. I don't like pattern instructions because they are badly written and hard to understand, but not these for the Agusta Stays. I sewed the theatrical version of these stays that don't have the frontal lacing. This is a pattern made with love. I am very impressed. I didn't make any alterations to the pattern because I wanted to make a fair review of the fit and the result is very impressive. There is little that I would change. Corsetry is very tricky, but these are very well done patterns. I don't own any 18th Century historical undergarments, so I had to improvise with what I had at home - those are undergarments for German traditional costumes and they are very beautiful and flattering (sarcasm mode on). My mom must be very proud of me š . This video is not sponsored by Scroop Patterns or Virgil's Fine Goods #augustastays #scrooppatterns #withme š„Love this video?
