That hurts consumers. It really hurts suffering people who need supplies after natural disasters. Unions and big shipping companies love this dumb law because it protects them from competition. “Your rules really hurt people,” I say to a lobbyist. "They don’t,” she replies. "What the Jones Act does is ensure reliable, dedicated service." Give me a break.
