It’s a peaceful, even quiet, town that’s not laden with tourist attractions, old Spanish forts or turquoise beaches. It has none of that! But what it does have is exuberant vegetation, wonderful vistas and a natural charm that comes natural to Puerto Rico’s mountain towns.People from Corozal are called “plataneros”, because of the abundance of “plantain” crops in the area. It’s also Puerto Rico’s volleyball capitol and the place where the sport made its initial inroads on the Island.
