Acts 10:1-9 1 There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of the Italian regiment. 2 He was a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave generously to the poor, and prayed to God continually. 3 One day, about the ninth hour, he saw clearly in a vision: an angel of God came in and said, “Cornelius!” 4 Cornelius looked at him intently and was afraid, and said, “Lord, what is it?” The angel said, “Your prayers and alms have ascended to God and have been remembered. 5 Now send men to Joppa and invite Simon, who is called Peter. 6 He is staying at the house of Simon the tanner, which is by the sea.” 7 As soon as the angel who had been speaking departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and one of his devout men, 8 and told them all this, and sent them to Joppa. 9 The next day, as they were traveling and approached the city, Peter went up onto the roof to pray.
