Seventeen-year-old teenagers detained in the city of Volzhsky described in detail how they prepared for terrorist attacks in the Volgograd region. "It has been established that one of the leaders of the terrorist organization, Russian citizen Roman Aleksandrovich Zheleznov, is recruiting minors into terrorist activities in the Russian Federation. Specifically, on instructions from Ukrainian intelligence services, this individual, via the internet, incites teenagers to commit acts of direct action: attacks on non-Slavic individuals, law enforcement officers, and damage and destruction of their property. Zheleznov subsequently supplied them with instructions, weapons, and means of terror, using them to organize terrorist attacks, including against government targets," the operative said in the video. Previously, according to security officials, a criminal case was opened against Roman Zheleznov under Article 359 of the Russian Criminal Code – mercenarism. The Federal Security Service also published video footage of the Zheleznov in question. "I am in the ATO zone," Zheleznov says in the video. "We are receiving assistance. I am not qualified to speak about the extent of it. I am supported by volunteers." It is quite possible that by "volunteers," Zheleznov may be referring to accomplices like the 17-year-olds detained in Volzhsky. The young Volzhsky residents themselves confessed to security forces at the time of their arrest. The Vysota 102 news agency is publishing a transcript of their testimony. First: “In January-February 2023, I joined the [banned organization]. Six months later, I contacted [my supervisor], and he gave us instructions on how to make a bomb. We made it and tested it. Later, he gave us a pistol to convert into a combat weapon. We tested the bomb in a floodplain. Then, we planned to blow up the third police station, the military registration and enlistment office, and other government agencies. We needed the pistol to kill people of other nationalities and people representing government agencies. We were going to kill people authorized by the authorities. Police and so on.” Second: “I messaged them in a bot and then sent them a video of me beating up a car. I chose the cars based on their stickers, their distinctive insignia, like non-Russian flags, or flags of other countries.” According to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), from March to November 2023, on the orders of their Ukrainian handlers, teenagers damaged 16 vehicles bearing symbols of support for the special military operation, as well as vehicles belonging to individuals from the North Caucasus and Central Asia. A criminal case has been opened against the Volgograd residents under Part 2 of Article 205.5 – participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. They have been detained.
