The shutdown began early in the morning, with protestors staging picketing at several major intersections across the city. Slogans demanding the revival of the paper mill echoed throughout Jeypore as the bandh brought normal life to a standstill. Due to the bandh, shops, markets, hotels, roadside eateries, and bus services remained closed. Vehicular movement was severely affected, with heavy vehicles stranded at major traffic points on both sides of the roads.
