As the attacks multiply, the police attempt to unravel the mystery, delving into a web of collective paranoia, social delusions, and personal secrets. With 13 episodes, "Paranoia Agent" explores themes such as social alienation, psychological pressure, and escapism, hallmarks of Satoshi Kon's work. It also delves into Freud's psychoanalytic idea of the "death drive" and the psychosocial effect of cute things (in this case, kawaii culture).
