Aesop lived in Greece in the 6th Century BC. He did not write down his fables, rather, he told many people his stories and they remembered them. It was nearly two hundred years later before all the stories were collected together and published. The fabels were later published in English in the 15th Century and since then, have been read by people all over the world.
