How it works: the Maersk Wind Installation Vessel
Our high-efficiency wind turbine installation concept has been developed to make offshore windfarms installations significantly faster than traditional jack-ups. How? 1. Uninterrupted installations A specialised feeder spread of tugs and barges ferry the turbine components out to site, while the WTIV Maersk Viridis remains on location carrying out uninterrupted installations. 2. Longer weather window With our new stabilising technology, the specialised feeder vessels can fully 'lock' onto the Maersk WIV, enabling a fast, steady and secure transfer of components from the barge to the Maersk WIV deck – even in rough waves.
