Japanese Cars of the CMC Sydney Classic, Feature Car: 1966 RT56 Toyota Corona Hatchback

The videos from my trip to Australia last August continue, and in this one it's the first of a series (of three) from the 2022 CMC Shannon's Sydney Classic; and it's all about the Toyotas, Nissans, Datsuns, Isuzus, Hondas, etc. Classic Toyotas and Datsuns were a highlight, and more specifically the following: E20 series Corollas A40 series Celicas Suzuki Mighty Boy Holden Astra (Nissan Pulsar N12) T18 Corolla liftback Chrysler Lancer (Celeste) A10 Datsun Stanza Datsun Bluebirds 1st gen Honda Accord (SJ) Isuzu Gemini, Bellet (and finally) 1966 RT56 Toyota Corona Hatchback. The feature car: 1966 RT56 Toyota Corona Hatchback This beautiful and rare 5-door Corona sedan/liftback is fresh out of its 2nd restoration. Grade is Deluxe, so is the cloth (brocade) interior. Engine: 1.5 litre 4 cylinder (2R). The car was bought by its current owner from a wrecking yard in 1985 for $100. It had made its way there after the previous owner, wanted to host a Christmas party, needed to clear some space, so donated the car the mentioned wrecking yard. For context, it'd been 4 years since my last visit to Australia, so felt well and truly out of the loop. The experience can only be describes as joyous though. It was such a great day of great cars, and to meet so many welcoming people, it was exhilarating.
