The first test of the 2026 Italian State Exam has concluded. Over 527,000 students across Italy took the traditional Italian exam, choosing from seven topics proposed by the Ministry of Education and Merit. From the night before the exams to the six hours spent in class, we gathered the first impressions of high school graduates just out of the classroom: which topics they chose, what challenges they encountered, and what emotions they felt during their first exam.
