PIEDRAS EN LA VESÍCULA: ¿Se pueden disolver los cálculos biliares? ¿O solo cirugía de vesícula?

Do you have gallstones, or have you been told you have "gallbladder stones," and are you worried about whether gallbladder surgery is necessary? In this video, I explain, with a practical approach based on clinical criteria, when surgical intervention (cholecystectomy) is truly necessary, when it can be scheduled, and in which cases conservative management is reasonable. Gallstones are very common, but not all patients need immediate surgery. In consultations and in the emergency room, the key point is not just "having stones," but whether there are symptoms, if there is inflammation (cholecystitis), and if complications arise. Therefore, in this video, I show you real gallstones from patients I recently operated on, to help you understand why it's not always so simple to "dissolve" them and why many non-surgical treatments have very specific indications. ✅ In this video, you will learn: What it means to have gallstones (gallbladder stones) and why they cause biliary colic. The difference between asymptomatic and symptomatic gallstones. What are the actual criteria that guide surgery, and why is surgery the predominant indication in many patients with symptoms? What is cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery, frequently laparoscopic), and in what scenarios is it recommended? What role does ursodeoxycholic acid (ursodiol) play as a non-surgical treatment, when can it be considered, and what are its limitations (treatment time, patient selection, and possibility of recurrence)? 🔴 3 patient groups (as explained in the video) 1) Emergency surgery: Patients with alarm symptoms or complications, for example, symptoms consistent with acute cholecystitis (persistent pain in the upper right abdomen, fever, significant malaise), or suspected associated problems requiring immediate evaluation. 2) Elective surgery: Patients with recurring symptoms (recurrent biliary colic), previous episodes of inflammation or typical pain related to fatty foods, nausea, or attacks that come and go. In this group, operating "in cold water" usually prevents future complications. 3) Conservative Treatment / Observation Patients with gallstones without symptoms or with specific conditions in which conservative management may be considered, always individualizing the risk/benefit ratio. This also includes analyzing when it makes sense to consider ursodeoxycholic acid, especially in selected scenarios and under medical supervision. ⚠️ Important (Safety and Warning Signs) This content is educational and does not replace a medical evaluation. If you experience intense, persistent pain, fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), persistent vomiting, or a rapid worsening of your general condition, you should go to the emergency room to rule out gallbladder complications. 📌 If you are interested in me making a supplementary video on: "What to eat if you have gallstones?", "Difference between biliary colic and gastritis", or "Post-operative care after cholecystectomy", let me know in the comments. 👍 Subscribe for more content on acute abdomen, abdominal pain, surgical emergencies, and general surgery. #Gallstones #Ballstones #GallbladderLithiasis #Gallbladder #Cholecystitis #Cholecystectomy #GeneralSurgery #AbdominalPain #UrsodeoxycholicAcid #DigestiveHealth Keywords and phrases: gallstones, biliary calculi, gallbladder stones, gallbladder lithiasis, biliary colic, right side abdominal pain, acute cholecystitis, gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, ursodeoxycholic acid, ursodiol, gallstone treatment, gallbladder dissolution, conservative gallbladder management, gallbladder emergencies, when to operate on the gallbladder
