The First "Megacar"

The Koenigsegg One:1 is named after its unprecedented 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, which combined a dry weight of approximately 1,360 kilograms with an output of 1,360 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V-8. Not only that, the engine produced one megawatt of power, a fact which prompted Koenigsegg to label it the world’s first “megacar." Few cars ever created can boast numbers like that, and fewer still can boast such fine craftsmanship and engineering. Everything in this Koenigsegg is engineered and manufactured in-house, from its awesome drivetrain to the exquisitely crafted carbon fiber and Kevlar bodywork and wheels, and its bespoke interior. This example is one of only six examples produced, and quite possibly the most recognizable of all One:1s. It is a defining chapter in the history of Koenigsegg, and it will be offered in our Tegernsee auction in Germany on 4 July. For more information, please visit https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/tc26/...
