The Jat regiment is intertwined with India’s military history. However, it has also become a pivot in the army’s sporting culture, especially wrestling. Many champion athletes and wrestlers have emerged from this regiment, most recently CWG gold medalist Deepak Punia & Bronze winner Sandeep Kumar. Two programmes - the Boys Sports Company & the Green node for army wrestling are central to the regiments contributions in wrestling.
