Mortara, tabaccaio aggredito per pochi spiccioli

A man entered a tobacco shop already upset, asked the tobacconist for a product, and then refused to pay. When the manager resisted, he attempted to assault him. It happened in Mortara, in the San Lorenzo district, near Piazza Silvabella, where a historic tobacconist has been located for years. The customer was already tipsy, whom the tobacconist had never seen. He entered muttering something, and when he got the product he wanted, he refused to pay. The owner explained that it wasn't possible, and from there, an aggressive reaction erupted. The tobacconist is family-run, and the incident occurred late Thursday afternoon, when only the elderly father was in the shop. The man became frightened and immediately called the Carabinieri, who intervened. They took the customer out of the shop and calmed him down. The man then continued to wander around the neighborhood and apparently spent the night in Piazza Silvabella. The tobacconist intends to file a complaint. In recent months, many residents of Mortara have complained of incidents of petty crime, especially in the evening hours. A few days ago, a 26-year-old man was jailed for assaulting a resident after stealing his phone near the Mortara train station and for damaging the door of an apartment building with a crowbar.
