For the first time in nearly three months, Larry and I are finally settling back into everyday life together after his time away at Army Basic Training at age 49. Today, we decided to sneak away for a little time alone—nothing fancy, just a simple afternoon together. We stopped at the armory, wandered through the co-op, picked up a few things at Costco, and enjoyed some quiet moments in between. After spending 10 weeks apart while Larry completed Basic Training, these ordinary moments suddenly feel much more meaningful. Between raising eleven children, homeschooling, military life, and the busyness of everyday life, we're realizing that making time for each other doesn't have to mean elaborate date nights. Sometimes, it's grocery shopping, running errands, and talking in the car.
