///////////////////////// 🏁 RACE REPORT 🏁 Javelin Sprintdays Round 5 - Anglesey Circuit / Trac Môn ///////////////////////// After the Quick60 Challenge provided an amusing distraction, it was crunch time in the Javelin Trackdays Sprint Series championship! Anglesey was the site of our first ever sprint rounds back in 2022, where we finished 5th and 3rd in the Modified 1.6L class (J13) in a very-sideways double-header event. It's a sign of how far we've come that we return two years later seeking to clinch the Modified 2.0L (J09) Championship with essentially the same hardware! On Saturday, a new (old) challenger appeared in our class, with Ian Yates and his very fast Renault Clio making his first meaningful appearance of the season. Unfortunately for Ian, it's too little too late for the Championship, so our attention was focused on our nearest rival Liam O'Toole in his Mazda MX5. Our first timed lap (2:13.08) launched us ahead of Liam O'Toole by just 0.60s. And, while we were able to improve to a 2:12.05 before the end of the day, Liam's first time would be his best. We settled for 2nd place behind Ian by just 0.02s and, crucially, extended our Championship lead by 3 points.
