I start at the top of Monte do Castro, with aerial views of the Ría de Vigo and the cruise ships leaving the port at sunset. From there I head to the heart of the city, where the large Christmas tree marks the beginning of the historic center, among narrow streets, old arcades, eclectic buildings and centuries-old squares. We then descended to Rúa do Príncipe, followed the elegant Policarpo Sanz, the monumental García Barbón, and the illuminated streets that make Vigo one of the most visited Christmas destinations in the Iberian Peninsula. From Rúa de Colón, the large, giant waterwheel appears aligned in the background, spinning in light on Rúa do Areal — one of the most striking moments of the route. We finished at the welcoming Christmas market in Praza de Compostela, a historic garden with exotic trees and a perfect atmosphere for this festive season.
